Two sides

Sometimes my wife finds it frustrating because I always look for two sides to the story. I don’t know why. But I tend to assume that the perspectives of two people are going to be different, at least a little bit, and so I’ll know more and understand better if I can see and/or hear both sides. (Or the three sides, or however many.)

So there is an editorial from Sunday, January 14, 2007, edition of The Philadelphia Inquirer about the religious right. The article compares it to fascism. Nothing like being slammed in the face with a two by four of somebody else’s perspective of who you are, what you believe, and what you think. I’m going to let it soak in a little more – and reread it a couple of more times – before I offer any more thoughts.

The debate roars on

So I decided to quit blogging a couple of weeks ago. You can read my latest entry at my other blog to hear some of my thoughts on why. I got really caught up in following the stats, and really disappointed when they didn’t move. I’d post entries and beg for results – all to no avail. And here I am posting to a blog I haven’t even opened in four months pretending that someone will read this entry. Optimism, maybe?

I like the thought of being able to write and have it read – at least have the possibility of it being read. I just don’t know. Blogging seems to be so much about getting the audience and finding someone to read your thoughts. I was reading some of the entries here today and thinking about where I was and what has been going on since I wrote them. It’s nice to be able to look back and read and see what’s been going on.

Anyway, back to journaling – which is really what this blog was all about originally. Maybe someone will read it one day. Maybe not. Maybe it will just be for me. And I think I’m okay with that.
